La Condition Humaine

(NL 1980) makes installations that obligate viewers to participate. He wants his work to reflect on the way people deal with space. He changed the entrance of a museum into a hallway with 48 doors; to access the museum, the public had to cross the corridor to be able to see the exhibitions.

With his new installation La Condition Humaine, Niens wants to experiment with the way Dutch public space is changing through the use of cctv monitoring, mosquito-devices and the prohibition of assembly in certain areas of our public space.
